It's impossible not to enjoy a visit to Amsterdam; with an impressive array of historic monuments, more than forty museums, and its cobbled Dam Square. If you are sightseeing, do visit Anne Frank's House, along with some of the world's most famous paintings at the Van Gogh Museum. Or you could take a boat trip along Amsterdam’s romantic canals, and perhaps sample local beers in the many coffee shops and bars. EXCURSION TO ZAANSE SCHANS Zaanse Schans Historic Village offers a wonderful insight into Holland’s past. Zaanse Schans is a delightful old hamlet on the banks of the river Zaan, with characteristic green wooden houses, charming gardens, small hump-backed bridges, tradesmen's workshops, historic windmills and engaging little shops. This enchanting hamlet gives an excellent impression of how a typical Zaanse village looked in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Apart from the cluster of windmills and houses, museums, restaurants and a visitor centre, there is also the possibility of taking a boat trip along the river..
