A fantastic and unique three day break for your enjoyment. We visit the wonderful Anderton Boat Lift, it is the historic structure on the Trent and Mersey canal. We have organised a cruise along the canal including an experience on the wonderful Boat Lift. We also have an included cruise a along the world-famous Llangollen canal and aqueduct, that is 126 feet high. A truly unforgettable experience.
Daresbury Park Hotel ***
We’ll stay at the Britannia Daresbury Park Hotel, located close to Warrington. All rooms are en-suite while other facilities include a lounge bar, restaurant and leisure centre with swimming pool, spa, steam room, gym and squash courts
(additional charges apply).
Day 1: After joining our coach, we head towards our hotel with a stop along the way. We expect to arrive at our hotel later this afternoon, in good time to prepare for dinner this evening.
Day 2: Breakfast. At leisure with an included excursion to the Anderton Boat Lift and on to Chester for our bus tour. Dinner this evening.
Day 3: Breakfast. Depart our hotel travelling via the famous Horse Shoe Pass for our visit to Llangollen and our cruise on the Llangollen Canal. We continue homewards arriving later this evening.
Excursion to Anderton Boat Lift: Join us for a peek of the area’s industrial past at the Anderton Boat Lift, a waterside wonder which is the only one of its kind in the UK! Be amazed by this feat of engineering, as we indulge ourselves with a boat trip up the lift.
We then move on to Chester where we hop aboard a 1920’s vintage bus for a fun, but informative guided tour of this fascinating city.Highlights of this tour include Chester Castle, Cheshire Military Museum, Chester Cathedral & Chester Visitor Centre. After the tour, you will have free time to explore this medieval walled city. Chester offers buildings of every era, each carefully restored to retain the old world backdrop with the modern day bustle of vibrant city life. Chester is home to the unique 13th Century ‘Rows’, half-timbered galleried shops, the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain and a glorious cathedral.
‘River In The Sky’ Cruise: You will experience a taste of Wales today as we cross the border, and continue onto the spectacular Horseshoe Pass, which offers wonderful views across the Dee Valley. We make our way to Llangollen, famous for its international Eisteddfod, and one of the prettiest town’s on the River Dee. There will be time to explore the area and have an included cruise along the world-famous Llangollen canal and aqueduct that is 126 feet high. It is truly unforgettable experience.
