Excursions

The Sound of Music Explore the baroque city of Mozart. A local guide will take us on a walking tour of this enchanting city, including several locations used in the film ‘The Sound of Music’. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the myriad of narrow, cobbled stone streets, ornate squares and churches, fascinating shops and traditional coffee houses. Mayrhofen A perfect example of Tirolean culture and one of its prettiest resorts. If you’re looking for souvenirs, this is the perfect place with many shops selling local craftwork. We’ve included a ride on a steam train through the beautiful Ziller Valley giving you the chance to see some of the finest scenery Austria has to offer. Oldest, Highest, Smallest One great day out, three unique experiences. Join the original cog railway, dating back to 1889. Our destination is the highest Alpine lake in the Tyrol, Lake Achen. Swap the hiss of steam for the gentle lapping of the water as you enjoy a cruise along its beautiful shores. Next stop is the delightful town of Rattenberg, Austria’s smallest and famous for its glass and crystal workshops demonstrating stunning creations.
