Baeren & Baeren Stube Oberhamersbac Hotel | Half-board | 7 days | 20/06/2015 Discover the Black Forest & Alsace on our coach holiday to Germany. The Black Forest is one of the most picturesque areas of Germany where you will find scenery to rival even the Alpine regions. The forest is a carpet of tree-lined hills laced with beautiful villages of unique charm, nestling in lush green valleys. The Black Forest is an area of exquisite beauty and relaxing serenity and enjoys a culture and romance of legendary proportions. Nestled between the mighty Rhine River and Vosges Mountains is the Alsace, an area of outstanding culture and heritage, where half-timbered houses decked with flowers are everywhere. We have combined these two great touring areas with some unique Black Forest experiences and inclusions! Enjoy rolling wooded hillsides, scenic lakes and the relaxed and friendly southern German hospitality with an insight into the history and culture of a unique region. Highlights of this holiday include; the picturesque lakeside resort of Titisee, some of the Black Forest’s beautiful towns and villages, a ride on a ‘little train’ and the characterful French Alsace region.

Guided walk and ride on Hamersbach little train to Zell am Hamersbach: Today we can enjoy our base with a guided walk of Oberhamersbach, before losing our hearts to the Black Forest, as we ride through the idyllic and romantic Hamersbach Valley on the little road train to neighbouring Zell. Enjoy fresh air, charming woodland scenery and the delights of this town, characterised by its medieval ambience, half-timbered buildings and picturesque alleyways. Time, perhaps, for lunch and some window shopping, before heading back on the ‘train’ to lovely Oberharmersbach. Excursion to Freiburg, Triberg and Titisee: Today we make a tour through the mountains, valleys and villages of the beautiful Black Forest. We head for Triberg, at the heart of the region, famed for cuckoo clocks and home to Germany’s highest waterfalls. Just about every cafe and restaurant here serves authentic ‘Black Forest’ cake. We visit Freiburg, situated just below the Black Forest. The architecture is beautiful and the streets are unique, colourful and loaded with activity. The town’s Münsterplatz is lined by colourful medieval and baroque-style houses. We move on through the region’s romantic wooded hills, to the crystal clear waters of Titisee, occupying an area carved out by a glacier during the Ice Age and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Relax in one of the lakeside cafés and enjoy the panoramic views! Excursion to the Alsace: After breakfast we head over the border to France and the Alsace. This region is unique, taking its architectural influences from its Swiss and German neighbours, whilst retaining the French gastronomic traditions and easygoing lifestyle. We visit the pretty town of Ribeauville, where we find local crafts and produce, and the tiny town of Riquewihr, with its picturesque cobbled streets lined with pink and blue half-timbered houses dating back to the 16th century. We move on to Colmar, where the quaint streets and terraces of the ‘Petit Venice’ canal quarter invite visitors to while away a few hours... Included Extras: Tea/coffee after dinner, happy hour, guided walking tour, ride on the little train, schnapps
